Community Partner Trainings
We connect families of students with disabilities to valuable learning opportunities, workshops, and educational programs offered by trusted partner agencies. Many of these organizations work in conjunction with or are approved by the California Department of Education (CDE) and other government entities to offer specialized parent support.

Seeds of Partnership

Focus & Mission: A collaborative initiative funded by the California Department of Education (CDE) Special Education Division to build strong connections between families, educators, and schools to improve outcomes for students with disabilities.

Types of Opportunities: Free monthly webinars (such as the Strengthening Partnerships for Students with Disabilities series), video archives, and educational resources covering topics like effective family-school communication, navigating special education systems, and student advocacy.
TASK (Team of Advocates for Special Kids)

Focus & Mission: A nonprofit Parent Training and Information Center (PTI) serving Southern California, dedicated to educating and empowering families of children with disabilities (ages 0–26) to navigate special education, disability services, and advocacy.

Types of Opportunities: Free workshops and training sessions on the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, Section 504 plans, parent rights, secondary transition planning, and assistive technology (AT) / augmentative communication (AAC).
Regional Center of Orange County (RCOC)

Focus & Mission: A state-contracted nonprofit agency that coordinates lifelong services, supports, and community resources for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in Orange County.

Types of Opportunities: Workshops, seminars, and training sessions on behavior management, Person-Centered Thinking, Self-Determination planning, living options, and parent-to-parent support through the Comfort Connection Family Resource Center.
