Board Meeting Highlights

February 21, 2018

Item 8 (c): Board Members were provided with copies of the agendas for the February 2018 State SELPA meetings. Board Members were also provided with copies of the February 2018 State SELPA Committee Summaries.

Item 8 (d): Board Members were provided a presentation to review the 2018-19 Governor’s Budget – OMNIBUS EDUCATION TRAILER BILL.

Item 8 (e)(1): Board Members reviewed the Coalition for Adequate Funding for Special Education – Legislative Report dated January 25, 2018.

Item 8 (f): Board Members discussed the CAC Recognition Awards evening that will be held during the April 18, 2018 Board meeting at the Walter Knott Education Center MPR.

Item 8 (g): Board Members reviewed a listing of the GASELPA Trainings/Staff Developments that were conducted during the month of January 2018.

Item 9 (a)(1): Board Members reviewed the first read of the revised Board Policy – BP 5141.4 – Child Abuse Reporting.

Item 9 (a)(2): Board Members reviewed the first read of the revised Administrative Regulations – AR 5141.4 Child Abuse Reporting.

Item 9 (b): Board Members reviewed a letter from Mr. Dean West, Orange County Department of Education, Associate Superintendent, Business Services, regarding the Orange County Department of Education acceptance of the Greater Anaheim SELPA 2017-18 First Interim Report.

Item 10 (a-f): Board Members took action on warrants, personnel items and contracts.

Item 11 (a): Board Members took action on Board Resolution 259-2018 to reduce the number of classified services, pursuant to Education Code 45117(b).
