Board Meeting Highlights

January 17, 2018

The GASELPA Organizational Meeting was held and Officers were elected for 2018.

Item 8 (c): Board Members were provided with copies of the agendas for the December 2017 State SELPA meetings. Board Members were also provided with copies of the December 2017 State SELPA Committee Summaries.

Item 8 (d): Board Members were provided a brief update on the School Services of California Governor’s Budget Workshop (2018) that had been held that morning. For informational purposes, Board members received a copy of School Services of California – Pocket Budget 2018-19.

Item 8 (e) (1): Board Members reviewed a “CASBO newsbreak – Legislature Reconvenes for 2018” article, which gives a brief overview/summary of the upcoming 2018 Legislative Session.

Item 8 (f) (1): For informational purposes only, Board Members were provided with a copy of this year’s CAC Recognition Awards Nomination Form.

Item 8 (g): Board Members reviewed a listing of the GASELPA Trainings/Staff Developments that were conducted during the months of November/December 2017.

Item 9 (a): Board Members reviewed the Greater Anaheim SELPA – December 1, 2017 California Special Education Management Information System (CASEMIS) report.

Item 9 (b): Board Members discussed a future Board Study Session – Program Visits.

Item 10 (a-g): Board Members took action on warrants, personnel items and contracts.

Item 11: Board Members entered Closed Session to discuss personnel matters.

Item 12: Board Members reported out on any action taken during Closed Session.
