GREATER ANAHEIM SELPA
The Greater Anaheim SELPA would like to invite all elementary school teachers to our new, five-part, Behavioral Support and Intervention Academy.
General and special education teachers who participate in the academy will further expand their knowledge of effective classroom management, including: How Students’ Skill Deficits Relate to Behavior, How to Identify the Function of Problem Behaviors, and How to Develop Effective Individual and Classroom Interventions.
Participants who attend all five sessions will receive a certificate of completion. An additional academy for junior high and high school teachers will be held after winter break.

|Introduction: Effective Classroom Management|
Participants will learn how to reduce problem behavior through effective classroom management.
September 27, 2017
|Disability Awareness: Behavioral and Learning Variations|
Participants will gain an understanding of skill deficits related to disabilities and their impact on behavior and learning.
October 12, 2017
Participants will learn the functions of problem behaviors, and how to develop effective intervention and reinforcement strategies.
October 25, 2017
|Intervention Strategies Part 1|
Participants will learn practical strategies to minimize problem behaviors and help all students effectively learn in the classroom.
November 16, 2017
|Intervention Strategies Part 2|
Participants will build upon intervention strategies presented on day four and summarize key concepts presented throughout the training.
