6.PUBLIC RECOGNITION

The Board will meet any guests in attendance.

b. Visitor Comments

This is an opportunity for the general public to address the Board on non-agenda items. Comments

on items that are on the agenda will be heard when the item is considered. All speakers wishing to

address the Board must fill out a VISITOR COMMENT REQUEST CARD in advance and present it

to the Board President. All speakers from the audience must wait until the Board President recognizes

them before making any statements. In the interest of time and order, all speakers from the audience

will be limited to three minutes and will have only one opportunity to speak on any item. The Board

reserves the right to limit the time on any single item in consideration of conducting the business of

the entire agenda. Speakers will follow procedures specified on the Visitor Comment Request Card.

f. It is recommended that the Board approve the Amendment to the Independent Exhibit 10

Contractor Agreement with Goodwill Industries of Orange County, increasing

the per hour rate for assessment (seven hour minimum) and training from

$105 to $107.05. All other terms and conditions remain the same. Effective

July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018.

g. It is recommended that the Board approve the Amendment to the Independent Exhibit 11

Contractor Agreement with Blind Children’s Learning Center, increasing the

day rate for Early Intervention Services to Infants from $153 to $155.26. All

other terms and conditions remain the same. Effective July 1, 2017 through

June 30, 2018. Part C to provide funding.

h. It is recommended that the Board approve the Student Affiliation Agreement Exhibit 12

between the University of Southern California and the Greater Anaheim SELPA.

GASELPA will offer Occupational Therapy educational programs for

accreditations by the appropriate State Board. There is no cost/charge to the

GASELPA for this contract. Effective July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2020.

i. It is recommended that the Board approve the Participation in the Parent Exhibit 13

Infant Education and Support Program Income Agreement (PIES) between

the Orange County Superintendent of Schools (OCDE) and the Greater

Anaheim SELPA. OCDE will provide educational programs for infants with

hearing loss. Cost is $850 per infant per month. Total costs not to exceed

$122,400. Effective July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018. Part C to provide

funding.

10. ACTION DISCUSSION

a. It is recommended that the Board approve the hiring of Andrew Sellers, as a

Greater Anaheim SELPA Program Specialist, starting at Step 5 of the Anaheim

Union High School District Administrative Salary Schedule, effective August 17,

2017.

b. It is recommended that the Board approve the Independent Contractor Exhibit 14

Agreement with Debbie Rorax, to provide Teacher Internship services for a

total of 40 hours. Cost is $38.35 per hour, not to exceed $1,534. Effective

August 18, 2017 through December 30, 2017. Member district to reimburse.

c. It is recommended that the Board approve the Independent Contractor Exhibit 15

Agreement with Gunn Psychological Services, Inc., to provide Independent

Educational Evaluation (IEE) – Psycho Evaluation Report. Cost is a flat fee

of $5,000 for school observation, testing, record review, report writing and

IEP attendance (IEP attendance limited to two hours). Effective September

21, 2017 through June 30, 2018. Member district to reimburse.

d. It is recommended that the Board approve the Independent Contractor Exhibit 16

Agreement with Hollar Speech and Language Services, Inc., to provide the

Independent Educational Evaluations (IEE) – Speech for a flat fee of $2,800.

Fee includes the following services: parent interview, standardized assessment

in all areas of language, articulation assessment, review of records, school

observation (l hour), IEP meeting (maximum of 45 hours), parent consultation

of report and written report. Effective September 21, 2017 through June 30, 2018.

Member district to reimburse.

e. It is recommended that the Board approve the Independent Contractor Exhibit 17

Agreement with MyTherapyCompany, LLC., to provide Speech/Language

Pathologist services. Services to be provided during a regular school day (7.5

Hours per day/5 days a week), effective August 7, 2017 through December

22, 2017. Total costs not to exceed $59,000. Member district to reimburse.

f. It is recommended that the Board approve Amendment #1 to the Independent Exhibit 18

Contractor Agreement with MyTherapyCompany, LLC., to add Item 25 – No

Solicitation. All other terms and conditions remain the same.

g. It is recommended that the Board approve the newly redesigned Greater Exhibit 19

Anaheim SELPA logo.

h. It is recommended that the Board approve the 2016-17 Unaudited Actuals Exhibit 20

Financial Report pursuant to Education Code sections 41023 and 42100.

11. COMMENTS FROM BOARD MEMBERS

Comments from the Board Members will be received and will be limited to five minutes per person.
